Racism Or Free Speech

Is black face a form of free speech? No black face is simply a form of racism. Black face because of its historical significance on African American cultural is a form of racism. Back in the day blackface was degrading to African Americans, with the sketched on large white lips to the jumping and running around like monkeys, so blackface to be redistributed today is a form of racism because of the history behind it. But that is not to say that everyone who does blackface is racist, because subconsciously they may not no the history or significance of blackface and why it would be considered racism. Years ago blackface was so negatively and racial charged that even if you still did it today it would still produce the same negative effect. Blackface is one of those things that cannot be transcribed to humor. But with blackface being racist, then we also have to take in consideration that whiteface is also racist, although there might be no history behind whiteface there are people out there doing it, and the connation of racism has to be placed on this as well. So blackface is not a form of free speech because freedom of speech also has something that says as long as someone’s character is not offended or degraded and that is as far as free speech goes, but people tend to try and label everything free speech, but blackface is not a form of free speech is actually a form of racism.
